Chelsea are closing in on the signing of defender Malang Sarr after the Frenchman agreed a four-year deal with the Blues.
The 21-year-old has been a free agent since rejecting an extension at Ligue 1 club Nice and he’s been targeted by a host of clubs across Europe, including several in France and Spain.
However, it appears that Chelsea have won the race for his signature with Telefoot reporting via Get French Football that the defender has agreed personal terms with the Blues over a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Sarr’s move is subject to a medical but he’s expected to give his final approval to the deal before travelling to London to undergo the formalities of his move.
Frank Lampard is desperate to strengthen his defence and the club hope to conclude a deal for Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva in the coming days.
The former AC Milan star confirmed his departure after Sunday’s Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich and Chelsea are believed to have offered the Brazilian a one-year deal, which will include the option of a further 12 months.
Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer but they hope to get several more faces through the door in the coming weeks.
