Everton are ready to listen to offers for Dele Alli as the forward emerged as a shock target for Besiktas.

The Turkish club are eager to complete a deal by the end of the week and it is understood the Toffees will consider letting Alli leave in the final two weeks of the window — despite having joined the club only in January.

Sources confirmed on Tuesday that the former England star is weighing up a move to Istanbul.

Whether Besiktas can pull off the transfer depends on how the deal is structured. They would prefer an initial loan deal.

If Besiktas, who are managed by former West Bromwich Albion and Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael, are given the green light, they will accelerate their attempts to land the 26-year-old over the next 48 hours.

Alli joined Everton during the final hours of the January window in what was effectively a free transfer.

Everton, however, would owe Tottenham £10million if Alli plays 20 times for the Goodison Park club.

He has made 13 appearances so far — only one of them from the start — totalling just 363 minutes of football.

The 26-year-old fell down the pecking order at Tottenham Hotspur following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019 as the spark and edge disappeared, a process that began when he was moved back into central midfield under Pochettino.

Jose Mourinho tried returning him to his old position but a bright start quickly fizzled out and the manager’s confrontational style did not help rebuild Alli, who fell out of favour.

Once considered one of England’s best talents, Alli averaged 22 goal contributions every season between 2015 and 2018.

Besiktas will be hoping that he can rediscover his goal-scoring touch should he join the Turkish outfit.

Everton host Nottingham Forest on Saturday following successive defeats to Chelsea and Aston Villa.
