According to reports, Liverpool have agreed on personal terms with Benfica striker Darwin Nunez in a deal worth €100 million.
Nunez has agreed to a five-year contract with Liverpool until 2027.
There is no confirmation on the salary yet, but the Uruguayan striker could earn €250,000 per week.
Liverpool and Benfica are edging closer to an agreement over the transfer fee for Nunez.

Benfica are demanding €80m plus €20m in add-ons, and Liverpool are moving closer to meeting the Portuguese club’s demands.
If the transfer goes through, Nunez will become the most expensive transfer in Liverpool’s history, surpassing Virgil van Dijk after the Dutchman moved from Southampton for €84.5m in 2018.
Nunez has been one of the breakout stars of European football in 2021-22, scoring a brilliant 34 goals in 41 games for Benfica.
Nunez scored six times in 10 games in the Champions League, finding the net in high-profile matches against Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Ajax and home-and-away versus Liverpool.
Several Europe’s biggest clubs have been linked with Nunez, including Manchester United, but it seems Liverpool could win the race for his services.
Nunez had chosen Liverpool as his preferred destination this summer.
Nunez will be part of a rejuvenation process at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to lower the average age of his squad and attack.
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino will all be 30 or over by the end of this month and all see their contracts expire in 2023.
Nunez only turns 23 this month, while Liverpool recently signed teenage winger Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.
Liverpool narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League and Champions League in 2021-22, but they did claim the FA Cup and League Cup.
