It has been confirmed today that Fenway Sports Group are willing to consider the sale of Liverpool Football Club after 12 years at the helm of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders.
They have confirmed that they will be willing to accept appropriate bids for the club having overseen a period of remarkable success on Merseyside.
In 2020, Jurgen Klopp delivered a first-ever Premier League title and the first top-division crown in over 20 years, a year after delivering the Champions League title in 2019.
However, FSG have often been unable to spend on the same levels as rivals Manchester City and are now reportedly open to offers, as per The Athletic.
The club are estimated to be worth £3.6bn at present, according to the most recent valuation figures released by Forbes. With revenue at £570m and debt value at just 4%, the club is in a stable position, with potential buyers known to FSG.
This means they are ranked fourth by Forbes, who compile a list of the most valuable clubs in the world yearly, with recent Todd Boehly acquisition Chelsea ranked 8th with a value of £2.7bn. Meanwhile, Tottenham are ranked above Arsenal in 10th with a value of £2.05bn, with the Gunners in 11th at £1.79bn.
A statement from FSG made to The Athletic read: “There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool.
“FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool. FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.
“FSG remains fully committed to the success of Liverpool, both on and off the pitch.”
