Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed Erling Haaland is dealing with a foot injury ahead of their trip to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Leicester host the reigning Premier League champions on Saturday lunchtime as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to build on back-to-back wins against Leeds United and Wolves.

Man City, who sit second in the league table, could be without Haaland who has scored them a staggering 17 goals in 11 Premier League games.

Haaland has been unwell and is also dealing with a knock on his foot, Guardiola has confirmed. Defender Joao Cancelo has also been struggling with illness but it may well be the case that he recovers in time to face Leicester.

Both players were taken off at half time as Man City drew 0-0 with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. After the game, Guardiola explained the reasons behind the double switch.

“Erling didn’t feel good,” Guardiola told BT Sport. “He had a little bit of a fever before the game, Joao as well.

“(Haaland) has a knock on his foot. I saw him tired, Joao as well, that’s why we changed it. In that period we struggled a lot.”
