Manchester United have entered negotiations to sign Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas, report Spanish outlet Cope.

The report states ‘negotiations are open’ between Manchester United and Espanyol over the player’s future.

The transfer fee would be between 25 and 30 million Euros (£21-25m).

The report says Raul de Tomas is not United’s only strike option, but he is among them, with talks established between the two clubs.

Raul de Tomas, 27, scored an impressive 17 goals in 34 games for Espanyol in La Liga last season.

He finished as the club’s top scorer as they finished 14th, and he does not currently have any European football to play this season.

Spanish outlet  SuperDeporte linked Arsenal with a move for the striker in June, while ARA claimed last month Bayern Munich were interested in him as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The striker was capped by Spain for the first time last season and has four international appearances to date, with an outside chance of going to the World Cup.

De Tomas began his career in Real Madrid’s youth academy, before a spell at Benfica, and then he signed for Espanyol in 2020.

He scored 23 goals in 2020/21 to fire the side to promotion, and his efforts last season made it 40 goals combined across the past two years.
