Nigeria Beat Botswana 2 : 0 to Regain Momentum in WAFCON

Nigeria Beat Botswana WAFCON

The Super Falcons

After Monday’s shaky start against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa and Asisat Oshoala’s tournament-ending injury, the Super Falcons of Nigeria got their campaign back on track at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after beating Botswana.

The Super Falcons beat Botswana by 2-0 in their second group game to keep hopes alive of qualifying for the World Cup and a record-extending 10th title.

The Super Falcons will now face Burundi on Sunday while Botswana will be up against South Africa.

Victory on Thursday has helped to calm some Nigerian nerves and allows the Falcons to look forward to Sunday’s encounter against Burundi with much confidence.
