Nigeria have been hit with a major blow just a few days to the 2022 World Cup playoffs between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars of Ghana as Leicester City and Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi got substituted in the 59th minute against Rennais after knee medial ligament tear in their European Conference league game.
According to medical reports, it takes 1-3 weeks to recover from a grade one type of injury. Grade two takes four to six weeks, while Grade three takes six or more weeks to recover.
This means that Ndidi will be a major doubt for Super Eagles 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Ghana.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the unfortunate news.
“Marc Albrighton has a groin injury and Wilfred Ndidi is block tackle so he injured the medial ligament in his knee so will see how that is,” Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers told BT Sports.
With Nigeria’s double-header game against Ghana fast approaching, playing those games without the 25-year-old midfield marshal will be a huge setback for Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen.
Ndidi has been ever-present for the three-time Africa champions since making his debut against DR Congo in 2015.
Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup Playoffs on 25th March 2022 with the return leg in Nigeria to follow four days later.
