Nottingham Forest have agreed a £42.5 million deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Morgan Gibbs-White.

The midfielder is set to become the newly promoted side’s 16th signing of the summer and will undergo a medical on Thursday afternoon.

Wolves were adamant that they would not sell the 22-year-old this summer unless there was a lucrative offer and Forest have broken their transfer record to bring him to the City Ground.

The Times understands that the deal is worth an initial £25 million, rising to £35 million once basic performance-related criteria are met, with further add-ons topping out the deal at £42.5 million.

Forest have already spent more than £100 million on transfers this summer as Steve Cooper looks to build a squad capable of staying in the Premier League.
