On Friday, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw was held in Doha, Qatar, with African teams finding themselves in a tricky group and Ghana again paired with Uruguay in Group H.
Of the 32 teams involved, only 29 have been confirmed, as two intercontinental play-off matches will take place in June, while in Europe one of Wales, Scotland or Ukraine will book their place at the tournament.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 22nd edition of the competition, the quadrennial international men’s football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

A soft draw for Senegal
African Champions Senegal have been in fine form after they won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January and football pundits have tipped Senegal to qualify for the next round.
The African champions will play Netherlands, Ecuador and host Qatar in Group A and will be hoping to replicate their 2002 World Cup performance.
Ghana seek Uruguay’s revenge
This group provides the Black Stars of Ghana to revenge for their loss 12 years ago after being drawn with Uruguay in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars are also paired with Portugal and South Korea, we are likely to see a repeat of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final.
Ghana were seconds away from reaching the 2010 semi-finals, but Luis Suarez handled a shot on the line at the end of extra time and was sent off, but Asamoah Gyan missed his penalty and Uruguay progressed to the semifinal.
“We believe that it will be revenge time,” Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku told BBC Sport Africa.
“We thought we had won that particular game but for that save from Suarez. It is very interesting for us to pitch against them again, obviously with fond memories.”
Tunisia in Group of death
The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia will face tougher opponents in Group D as they will play title holders, France, Denmark, and the winner of an international play-off – which could be either Peru, Australia, or the United Arab Emirates.
Tricky one for Morocco
The Atlas Lions of Morocco will open up against 2018 runners-up Croatia in Group F and have also been drawn with Belgium and Canada, who have qualified for the first time since 1986.
Tough draw for Cameroon
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are in Group G with Brazil who they have met twice, losing 3-0 in 1994 and 4-1 in 2014.
Cameroon have qualified for a record eighth World Cup finals, and have been drawn with Serbia and Switzerland.
