Sports Minister Warns NFF President Amaju Pinnick Against Tenure Elongation

Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, has warned Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) against any tenure elongation

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the office of the ministry of sports headed by Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, has warned Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) against any move to stay beyond September 2022, when his tenure and the present board expires.

In a letter addressed to outgoing NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare made it clear that the federal government will kick against any form of tenure elongation by the board.

The letter signed by Sports Minister Sunday Dare, Reads: “The NFF leadership is to ensure that the September 2022 schedule for the NFF executive election is complied with in line with the expiration of the current board,s tenure.”

The letter further directed Amaju and the incumbent board to throw the board open with the inclusion of other concerned stakeholders who were hitherto disenfranchised.

“The NFF is by this letter enjoined to ensure immediate compliance with this presidential directive…”

With the Sports Minister’s directive, the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board has two months to vacate the office.
