Tokyo Olympics: Minister Assures 10 Track, Field Athletes Of Welfare

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has assured ten track and Field athletes, who will not be competing at the Tokyo Olympics of their welfare.
The Minister in a statement signed by the Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Manga Mohammed, explained that the ministry is abreast of the situation, adding that issues were being addressed.
In the statement obtained by Money Central, disclosed payment of various allowances commenced since last week and its ongoing, stating that the Ministry is looking into some of the issues raised by the athletes and they are being addressed as quickly as possible.
The Minister apologized over what he described as unfortunate development and promised to investigate the matter.
Dare, in the statement therefore debunked reports that officials of Team Nigeria and NOC denied the athletes of their entitlements.
“No official of Team Nigeria or NOC took away the entitlements of any athlete, as its being wrongly reported,” the Minister emphasized.
