Total Assets under Management (AuM) by Pension Funds Administrators or PFAs surged past the N11 trillion mark in June according to the latest data from the regulator.
Nearly N330 billion was added to holdings of FGN bonds by fund managers amid a shift in duration to escape rock bottom yields in short dated treasuries.
Total Pension assets increased by N289 billion in a month as total retirement savings registrations (RSA) rose to 9.039 million people.
FGN securities (such as bonds, T-Bills, Sukuk and Green Bonds) made up 67.25 percent of AuM in June, up from 66.74 percent in May.
Holdings of equities by fund managers however continued to slide as the value of Pension Assets invested in domestic ordinary shares fell to N524.7 billion for the period, from N530.1 billion in May.
