Northern group under the auspices of the Arewa Consultative Progressive Forum (ACPF) has expressed dismay over the unfortunate drone attack on a group of people on a Maulud procession at Tudun Biri community of Kaduna state.

ACPF deeply mourns and condoles all the families of the dead, just as it prays for a speedy recovery of the injured ones.

The National Publicity Secretary of the group Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha asserted this while speaking to the Injured victims of the attack currently receiving treatment at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna on Tuesday.

“We pray that God Almighty grants the dead peace. We also pray for a quick and full recovery for those injured.

“Efforts must thus be put in place to avert such avoidable loss of lives and property. Communities in the northern states have enough problems with banditry, and are now becoming helpless,” Mustapha.

Meanwhile, the group has also commended the Kaduna State Government for its quick response to the situation and for coming to the aid of the injured.

ACPF however, called for an investigation of the incident; to establish what exactly happened on who was involved and how the incident happened. The group added that anyone found guilty of professional or operational incompetence be severely disciplined.

“We want to state here that the Kaduna State Government has to act to protect the interest of the victims and not the Nigerian Army personnel that perpetrated the incident,” he said.
