A Northern group under the auspices of the Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria, has called on the EFCC to investigate the allegation of presentation of fake certificate by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP’s) guber candidate in Zamfara.
It was alleged that the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dauda Lawal Dare, had presented a fake certificate to the apex electoral body; INEC, swearing to an affidavit that he hailed from Gusau LGA in Zamfara State.
The group alleged in a statement signed by its leader, Muhammed Abdullahi that the certificate reported to have been presented to INEC bears different names.
In the statement obtained by Money Central, it was noted that the certificate submitted by Dauda Lawal Dare bears Ado Dauda who hailed from Guga village in Kaduna State; now in Katsina State.
“The recent publication of documents by the Independent National Electoral Commission has exposed a can of worms hidden by Dauda Lawal Dare, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State. Mr. Dauda Lawal who sworn on affidavit that he hailed from Gusau LGA in Zamfara State was reported to have presented to INEC different certificates belonging to one Ado Dauda who hailed from Guga village in Kaduna State; Now in Katsina State.
“Independent investigations conducted in Guga village revealed that there was actually a deceased person named Ado who attended Guga Primary school in the same year reported by the PDP candidate.
“According to a source privy to the shady dealing in Funtua LGA of Katsina State, the certificate of late Ado Dauda who lived in Guga village was sold to Mr. Dauda Lawal after alteration of some years to fit the needs of the buyer,” these, as alleged in the statement obtained by our reporter.
The group therefore called on police and other security agencies to investigate the matter.
