Gale of Resignation Hits Gov. Inuwa, As 2 SEC Members Resign Within A Week

Within seven days, two prominent aides of Gov. Yahaya Inuwa of Gombe state have put up their resignation from the government.

First was the Special Adviser to Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state on Social Investment, Mrs Dijatu Bappa who resigned on the 1st of February, 2022.

While also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-Governmental Relations, Alhaji Garba Jijji tendered his resignation letter dated 7th February, 2022.

The duo in their seperate resignation letters which was addressed to the Governor explained that the resignation was with immediate effect.

Although, they did not state the reason for resigning from their positions, but according to unconfirmed information, their resignation was not far from the mass defection of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition parties in the state.

According to Bappa: “I write to inform you of my decision to terminate my service as Special Adviser to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State on Social Investment programme with effect from 1st February, 2022.

“ Your Excellency Sir, I sincerely thank you for giving me this golden opportunity to serve under your able leadership, it is indeed a rare privilege to serve in that capacity.”

In his letter, Garba Jijji stated: “with much honour and respect to your office, I wish to put up my resignation from your government under your able leadership. This is on a personal ground with effect from the date above.

However, as at the time of this report, no official statement has been issued from the Gombe state government regarding the resignation of these two State Executive Council (SEC) members.
