Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has appealed to the people of the state to give him additional four years to enable him continue to bring dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Addressing thousands of APC supporters at a campaign rally in Akwanga Local as part of the state APC campaign rally, the governor said he was ready to do more for the state if elected again.
Gov. Sule who enumerated some of his numerous achievements since he took over the mantle of leadership about three and half years ago, said the completion of Lafia Airport and Lafia Ultramodern Park were part of his deliberate efforts to develop the state, adding that other modern markets were nearing completion in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga among several others Local governments.
He appealed to the people of the state to give him additional four years to enable him continue to provide them with dividends of democracy.
While explaining the source of his campaign funds, the governor said the over N1bn he is using to finance his second term campaign was generated from the fund raising he personally organized.
He further explained that those whom he invited at the fund raising ceremony were his friends that are well to do in the society whom he assisted in One way or the other when he was heading African Petroleum, AP as well as Dangote company.
He said it became necessary to explain his source of funds for the campaign in order to correct the misgivings by his political opponents that he was making use of state funds for his campaign.
He said the candidate of the main opposition party, the PDP, lacks ideas, adding that the party’s candidate is only seeking the governorship position as a source of employment.
The APC chairman in the state, Mr. John Mamman, had while addressing the party faithful, said the desire of governor Sule is to build a Nasarawa state that would be second to none in terms of development, stressing that this could be achieved, if by next year, the electorate turn out en masse and cast their votes for him.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Yakubu Kwanta, said the people of the state had never had a peaceful state before like during the current tenure of Engr. Sule. He, therefore, called on the people of the state to vote massively for the governor to enable him continue with the good work he started.
