The establishment of security outfit; Community Protection Guard (CPG), has received commendation from a northern group.

The group under the aegies of the Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria said the that the new outfit would give needed support to the conventional security agencies in the state.

While applauding the initiative, the Chairman of the group, Muhammed Abdullahi, explained in a statement that Matawalle‘s administration has shown strong political will to tackle security challenges head-on by implementing new security measures.

In the statement, the group said that Matawalle’s government came up with additional measures for combating insurgency in the state, while adding that such effort will also create employment opportunity for the youth of the state.

Recall that the Governor had explained that the decision to establish the CPG was informed by his administration’s desire to use all possible options to deal with the increasing act of banditry causing loss of lives, untold hardships and rupturing inter-communal peace in parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the group has urged the guards to concentrate fully on their responsibilities, adding that the task ahead of them was enormous and daunting which they must carry out diligently.

The group therefore called on the citizens of the state to give their support to the CPGs.
