The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Adamawa State earlier on Friday held its first quarter of 2024 Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, HIRD, programme in Dijango community Damsa Local Government Area.

As the popular adage says “Health is wealth.” The HIRD was designed by the NYSC for rural dwellers to have access to free medical care.

While declaring the programme open, the State Coordinator, Mr Jingi Denis noted the scheme was established for unity and national development. He further explained that free medical care is part of the scheme’s contribution to the national development and service to humanity.

The Coordinator enjoined the members of the community to take the advantage of the programme to advance their medical status.

The Mai angwa didango, Musa Saleh appreciated the kind gesture NYSC extended to their community and encouraged all dwellers to cooperate with the corps medical personnel and make use of medications administered to them as instructed.

He appreciates NYSC for coming to their aid as he prays that their health issues will be tackled.

In response, the medical health CDS corps members stated that reaching out to the rural dwellers is an opportunity they always look forward to. As it is the core value of the scheme to reach out to the vulnerable in the community.
