The management of Kwara State Polytechnic has disowned two suspects, Joseph Joy Adanma and Vandora Oreoluwa Favour, who confessed to having killed a nightclub owner, Adeniyi Ojo, during a sexual escapade, in Ilorin, the state capital.

MoneyCentral had reported that one of the suspects, while speaking after they were paraded at the police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, revealed that they, during a sex romp, tied Ojo to a hotel bed, stole his phones, and other belongings, and killed him.

Adanma disclosed that they attempted to steal from the deceased who wanted to have sex with her and her friend, Favour, but in the process, the man died.

She added that she finished her ND programme at Kwara Polytechnic before the incident occurred.

However, the polytechnic management, in a statement issued on Thursday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, said the suspects are not students of the polytechnic.

Garba noted that the suspects’ claim that they were students of the Kwara State Polytechnic was untrue, adding that the claim was intended to drag the name of the institution into the mud.

He stated: “The management wishes to disclaim this discrediting and malicious news about the institution, stating that the suspects being paraded in Abuja by the force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, are students of Kwara State Polytechnic.

“The polytechnic management wishes to state categorically that its students are good ambassadors of the polytechnic, the state, and Nigeria at large and will never indulge in such acts.”

He, however, urged all polytechnic stakeholders and journalists to verify anything tagged with the institution before circulating it.
