The People’s Redemption Party (PRP), has said that the nation is sinking into a deepening social and economic crisis, which according to the party has sentenced majority of Nigerians into poverty and all manner of material and physical deprivations.

The party noted that the deplorable state of the nation is the consequence of bad governance and misrule by the ruling parties, who according to PRP have survived by encouraging divisive conflicts.

In a communique issued at the end of the 2nd national delegates conference in Zaria, the leadership of the party also said that mismanagement of social, economic and political fortunes of Nigeria has brought the country to its kneel.

” The Federal Republic of Nigeria is at the crossroads of either remaining under the grip of the unpatriotic, corrupt and retrogressive forces that have been responsible for ruining the social, economic and political fortunes, as well as potentials of Nigeria pushing the country to the precipice of national disintegration or teeming up with progressive elements in the struggle to set our country free from the stranglehold of the political opportunists who have nearly run the nation aground,” the communique reads.

The party therefore call on Nigerians as the country inches closer to the 2023 Presidential and General Elections to vote for a meaningful change by supporting the candidates of the PRP.

In the communique, the party frowned at the deregistration of some political parties by the INEC, which according to PRP is a denial of human and democratic rights of Nigerians to freedom of association, adding that it is amounting to deliberate disenfranchisement of Nigerian citizens.

On the crisis rocking the party, the conference described the action of Falalu Bello in the name of the party by organising congresses and conventions as a political fraud.

The party also reaffirmed its commitment towards rescueing Nigerians from the exploitative and oppressive conditions under which they have lived over the years.
