The National Vice Chairman, North West Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has advised party members to reconcile to avoid Zamfara State experience.
Lukman said that intra-party crisis in Zamfara state in 2019 made the opposition; People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to win the election.
The National Vice Chairman who is the head of the Committee disclosed this in Kaduna, adding that effort are being made in the seven states of the zone to resolve grievances of the aggrieved members and to ensure they play their role towards ensuring the party’s victory in forthcoming general elections.
Though, party’s governorship aspirants in Kaduna State, Alhaji Sani Sha’aban and Bashir Abubakar were absent at the meeting.
Reacting to newsmen on the issue of absentism, Lukman said those absent got the notice of the meeting very late.
According to him, they informed the party that they were busy and could not make it to the meeting.
Lukman explained that another meeting will be organised to resolve their grievances and to ensure they play their role towards ensuring the party’s victory.
” Yes, understandly so because the notice was short during the week, and some of them told us they are having other businesses because some of them are serving members at different levels. But they are aware of what is happening and we will continue to discuss with them and ensure they play their role,” he said.
While speaking, Lukman called on the aggrieved members to support the party leadership towards addressing their differences in order to move the party to victory in next year elections.
Our reporter who was at the venue of the meeting reports that the State Governor, Nasir El-rufai, his deputy Hadiza Balarabe and other party leaders and top government officials were in attendance, while the party’s flagbearer, Senator Uba Sani was also absent at the meeting.
