Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reshuffled his cabinet and relieved Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun of the job, and appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance.

Oyedele is a prominent tax and fiscal policy expert, who previously worked at PwC. He specialises particularly in areas of revenue generation and tax administration.

Until his latest elevation, Oyedele had been serving as Minister of State for Finance and, crucially, as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, a role he has held since 2023 under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
