The 18th edition of the popular gospel music concert, ‘The Experience’, was held on Friday night, December 8, 2023, and it spanned into the early hours of Saturday morning at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. The theme for the programme was ‘Jesus Our Way Maker.’

According to the convener of the event, who is also the lead pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the reason for the theme of the event was because of the hard times the country was facing.

He added, “’The Experience’, in more ways than one, symbolises a beacon of hope piercing the darkness of pervasive hopelessness and feelings of desolation. We know that as our praises rise as an offering to the only one who can turn things around for us, His blessings will distil in divine intervention, alighting like the morning dew upon us, our nation, and our shared future.

“Beyond being a concert, ‘The Experience’ has matured into a counterculture that aspires to bring heaven down to earth within the reach of humanity, as we navigate the intricate interplay of (the) faith and culture shaping our interactions and developmental initiatives in our shared journey to great nationhood.”

International and local artistes that performed at the event include Donnie McClurkin, Naomi Raine, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Moses Bliss, Travis Greene, Onos Ariyo, William McDowell, Tope Alabi, Ada Ehi, and Tim Godfrey, among others.
