Pure Biotech Company Limited, producers of ethanol have commenced production of the industrial chemical in Benue State, MoneyCentral can report.
The company’s Stephen Numbeve, said production commenced on Friday, 4th March, 2022, at the company’s site located on Kilometre 18, Makurdi -Gboko Road.
Numbeve, in a post on his Facebook page, wrote: “This is to bring to your notice that Pure Biotech Company Limited has commenced Ethanol production, this day 04/03/2022.
“We now have one of the Purest Ethanol in the country with a strength of above 96%.”
Experts say Ethanol is an important industrial chemical used as a solvent, in the synthesis of other organic chemicals, and as an additive to automotive gasoline (forming a mixture known as a gasohol).
It is also the intoxicating ingredient of many alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and distilled spirits.
MoneyCentral earlier exclusively reported that a new Benue biotechnology company would require 2,000 tons of cassava daily.
