Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote has confirmed that small retail investors will receive preferential equity allocation during the upcoming ₦2.15 trillion ($1.5 billion) Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals FZE.
Speaking ahead of the September 14 book-building launch, Dangote stated that subscription orders from retail buyers purchasing entry blocks of ₦50,000 to ₦100,000 will be approved and fully allotted prior to institutional scaling.
“Those small investors who want to buy with ₦50,000 or ₦100,000 will get approval first, then the rest will share,” Aliko Dangote, said in an interview with Abis Fulani.
The promoter framed the public offering—priced at ₦525.00 per share with a minimum entry threshold of 10 shares (₦5,250)—as a wealth-creation vehicle for domestic retail investors.
Dangote projected long-term upside toward a ₦10,000 per share valuation target, emphasizing that the complex’s dollar export revenue streams will support dual-currency (Naira or USD) dividend payout options to hedge investors against currency devaluation.
“The share now is ₦525. This share will one day become ₦10,000. So, if you buy and it becomes ₦10,000, and you put in ₦5 million, it becomes ₦50 million plus. You have become rich, and there is no need to sell. You don’t have to fear devaluation. You can choose dividend in naira or in dollars,” Dangote said.
