A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III (tail number 00213) assigned to the 437th and 315th Airlift Wings landed in Nigeria over the weekend to transfer a major consignment of military hardware and precision-guided aerial weapons to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The delivery represents the operational execution of a $346 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) package approved in 2025.
The shipment directly follows the bilateral U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting held in Washington, D.C., led by Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu.
U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) framed the supply drop as “partnership in action” to enhance tactical air support for ongoing counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP across northern Nigeria.

Upgrading A-29 Super Tucano Strike Precision: The inclusion of APKWS II (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System) guided rocket kits converts standard 70mm unguided rockets into laser-guided precision weapons.
