GEORGE KAJO, Makurdi

Benue state government has committed the sum of N20 million for the completion of the new civil terminal at the Makurdi Airport.

Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this last Friday after inspecting the project; saying the project was preparatory to the resumption of concerted aviation services in the state.

He said, government was working hard towards installing fire fighting equipments at the terminal to guarantee it safety.

According to him, though the terminal was a Federal Government project, the state government was supporting in providing conducive working environment for the air transport services in the state in view of its importance especially in the wake of insecurity in the country.

Governor Ortom expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the project and reintegrated the readiness of his administration to complement Federal Government in execution of programmes and projects that would add value to welfare of citizens of the state.
