The Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Benue State command, Mr. Philip Anuku Okoh has challenge Nigerians to be in the vanguard of promoting peace so as to end violence in the country.

The Commandant threw the challenge when the founding president, Lordship of Christ Family Ministries worldwide, Rt Reverend Apostle Mtswenem Tor David led other clerics and members of the Editorial Board of Kingdom Watch Newspapers to bestow an award ‘Man of Peace and Civil Defender of the Year’ on him in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

According to Mr. Okoh, he was sent to Benue by God with an agenda to ensure peace, assuring of not to leave any stone unturned to make sure that peace reigns and the light of God shines in the state.

“I have been sent here to ensure the resuscitation, restoration, revamping, and the reformation of the structure of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps”.

The Commandant attributed insecurity bedevilling the whole world to the disorderliness and iniquity of men as well as their refusal to incline to the things God has directed and urged men of God to be sincere and practice what they preach.

“Righteousness reigns from heaven and salvation springs forth from the earth and when righteousness comes and there is salvation, holiness is manifested. Where there is holiness and there is orderliness of the things of God, human beings align themselves to be traits of God’s nature, peace is the resultant effect”

He pointed out that where there is no peace, chaos is inevitable and where there is chaos, prosperity, growth and development become scarce because peace is Jermaine.

The NSCDC boss asserted that Benue State is a microcosm of Nigeria and if you get it right in Benue, you will get it right in Nigeria, as peace is being established in Benue, that peace will go all over Nigeria, describing the award as a big one that will spur him to put up his best in the course of duty.

Presenting the award, Apostle Mtswenem Tor David said, the award was inspired by God, saying God spoke to one of his pastors, Rev. Peter Azem Nyitor in his sleep that they should do a thanksgiving for the NSCDC State Commandant to honour him.

Apostle Mtswenem thanked the Commandant for granting them access and cooperating with them to do the will of God.

In a remark, DCC Joe Idang of Intelligence/Investigation Department of the corps, expressed happiness over the award, saying it was apt because there has been peace in Benue since Comadant Okoh was posted to the state.

On his part, Rev. Azem Nyitor said he saw light around the Commandant which showed that he was a man of God, hence he recommended him for the recognition.
