Governor Fintiri Releases N3bn to Pensioners in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is set to release about three billion naira to offset the backlog of gratuities to pensioners.

The money which is to be released in March 2024 will drop into the coffers of pension boards in the state for onward disbursement.

The Governor made the pronouncement when he received leadership of the organised Labour led by the State Chairman Comrade Emmanuel Fashe.

Among the delegation are the leadership of Trade Union Congress and all affiliates of NLC.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was delighted with the high-powered delegation urged the organised Labour to sustain the friendliness and bond of relationship between his Government and the movement.

Fintiri pledged to off- set the balance of the leave grant arrears to civil servants.

He noted that his Government will gradually fill all the existing vacancies of workers both at state and local government levels as requested by labour having put to rest all the legal tussles.

According to him, the state government is ever ready to support the affiliates that are hosting NEC meetings in Adamawa considering the peace Enterprise prevailing in the state.

The State Chairman of NLC Comrade Emmanuel Fashe had earlier told Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri that the organised Labour was at the Government House to congratulate him over the supreme court Judgment.

He commended the Governor for his resilience, political gallantry and ability to defend the mandate given to him by the electorate up to supreme court even in the face of intimidations.

Comrade Emmanuel Fashe who spoke on relevant labour/ Government relations assured the Governor of the continued support at all times.
