Northern Group Urges Gov. AbdulRasaq To Maintain UBEC Rating

A northern socio-economic group known as Arewa Solidarity Group (ASG), has urged the Kwara state Governor, AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman to maintain the rating of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)

Recall that Kwara State has been rated first among its equals in the north-central states based on the approach is adopted for the ongoing school infrastructural development.

The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed, while addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday on the state of education in Nigeria, especially in the north-central call on the governor to keep the flag flying and ensuring that education are provided to the people.

While speaking, Ahmed saidvthat no effort should be spared in the ongoing strive to reposition the education sector.

The group leader therefore call on all relevant stakeholders to key in and give neccessary support to the Kwara state government in her repositioning efforts, just as he also advised parents to use the opportunity of the educational reform in the statd to enroll their children.

” No doubt that any society that fail to provide the needed education to its teeming population is risking a bleak future, this being the reason why government must take the issue of educating its people serious.

” We have seen evidential achievements of the UBEC/SUBEB projects spread across the three senatorial districts. We were amazingly stunned by the quality of the projects executed. The construction and reconstruction of blocks of classrooms were massive,” Ahmed explained.
