The Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), has urged the security agencies to step up and show commitment to end the lingering killings in the Southern part of Kaduna state.

The group who called on the securities forces to protect the lives and properties of the citizens, also said that the escalating violence against the Atyap communities continues to beat human imagination.

Speaking on behalf of the group during a Press Conference in Kaduna on Monday, the President of ACDA, Samuel Achie alledged that the killings in the region is carefully planned and being executed to eliminate the Atyap race from the face of the earth.

According to him, the lives of citizens have been reduced to nothing in the land, and the lives and properties of the people are being obliterated at will by the perpetrators.

Achie said: ” I sincerely feel it is time His Excellency; Gov. El-rufai to call on the security apparatus for a review of strategy and possible changes where possible.”

Achie, while speaking, he explained that between 30th and 31st January, 2021, 16 lives were killed and 38 houses were burned, while over 100 people were said to have been displaced.

He further alledged that some of the killings in Bakinkogi and Ashaawuce communities both happened in the presence of security check points.

” Some people from the area are still missing and unaccounted for. This again has aggravated the humanitarian crisis in the land, thereby making life unbearable to the peace loving citizens of Atyap land,” Achie said.
