Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Sources said Fadah’s removal was because he ‘exhibited glaring incompetence’ in the six months he has piloted the affairs of NYSC.
Fadah has been ordered to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the NYSC to head it in the interim pending the appointment of a substantive DG by Buhari.
Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, whose office supervises the NYSC also confirmed Fadah’s sacking.
Fadah assumed office as NYSC DG in May, 2022. He replaced Major General Shu’aibu Ibrahim.
