GELD Foundation puts smiles on widows in 6 states

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Glovis Entrepreneurial and Leadership Development Foundation (GELD Foundation) has shortlisted 200 widows in six states of the federation.

The states include FCTAbuja , Kaduna, Kwara, Oyo, Kano and Plateau state.

According to the founder, Mr. Kayode Akinade, he disclosed that the project is help widows across the six states, saying that
It’s another time of the year when the foundation consider it necessary to bring smiles to the faces of widow’s and their families.

While speaking to newmen, Akinade explained that last year no fewer than 104 benefitted from the programme in four states across the federation, which according to him include FCT Abuj , Kaduna, Kwara, Oyo, Kano and Plateau state.

He said, “this year 2021, we hope to put smile on the faces of at least 200 widows and their families in 6 states and provide them with food items in a most dignified way to celebrate the Christmas season in Nigeria.

“We are going to distribute raw food materials and cash gifts to support the widows and encourage them; especially in the Yuletide season of December 2021.

“This project will also capture data entries of the shortlisted widows in respect to their businesses, home locations, physical well-being, and educational background among other details of importance.

“The essence of this project is keenly interested in putting smiles on the faces of widows and their families during the Christmas season, and also to get their data captured in respect of accessing future support to their business and development of entrepreneurship skill that can improve the scope of their businesses and enhance productive living while supporting them on a journey management to financial independence.

“GELD Foundation is committed to alleviating poverty by enhancing the standard of living of Women, Youths and Widows engaged in small scale trades/crafts through business management and entrepreneurship training on how to move their business forward, financial empowerment and improve their standard of living.

“GELDF has developed several social and humanitarian projects for the benefits of women (widows) and youths in our society in general and look forward to doing more.

“Finally, We would like to appreciate the continuous contributions and support of our partners and stakeholders”
