In its onerous task of securing the lives and properties of law abiding citizens of Kaduna State, the state Command has arrested no fewer than Five Hundred and Three suspects for various crimes across the state.

The Command noted that the peace currently enjoyed in state is a pointer that the Command is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to protect the lives and properties of the good people of Kaduna State.

Addressing a press briefing at the Kaduna police headquarters in Kaduna on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO
), DSP Muhammad Jalige explained that a number of recoveries were made which according to him include: Four AK47 Rifles, Three Revolver Pistols,Two Pump Action guns.

Others he mentioned are: Two Thousand Eight hundred Railway slippers, Nine Motor- Vehicles of different brands, Two Tricycles,
Two Hundred and nine Rounds of AK47 Live Ammunition, One Hundred and Twenty Nine Rustle cattle, Eight (8) Sheep, and Two bags of Dry leaves.

While fielding questions from journalists, DSP Jalige further explained that the arrested suspects were linked to armed banditry, armed robbery, handsets/hand bags snatching, cattle rustling, culpable homicide, rape, shop breaking, theft, vandalization of Rail tracks and other related crimes.

“You will agree with me that the need to create an enabling environment for business and farming activities to succeed in Kaduna State and the country at large cannot be overemphasized.

“As we speak, a lot of security measures are been initiated and strategized systematically with a view to achieving better results and ensuring that the fight against criminals and criminalities in the state is tangibly achieved.

“It is against this background that the Command re-emphasised the need for members of the public to eschew violence of any kind and to promptly report to the Command identified cases of all forms of criminalities within their domains without shielding any one for whatever reason for possible arrest and prosecution without which the good effort of the command highlighted above will be frustrated.”

According to the PPRO, the said suspects were arrested on the 15th June, 2023 in uncompleted building located at Rigasa during a police patrol in conjunction with the Civilian JTF.

“It may interest you that to know that the gallant determination of our detectives have yielded more results on some of these cases that are being investigated with the arrest of Six (6) additional suspects in connection to the gruesome killing of One Alhaji Shuaibu Mohammed ‘m’ Ardon Zazzau on 17th June, 2023,” DSP Jalige added.
