The Commissioner of Police in charge of security for the ongoing Osun governorship election, Samuel Erale, has described the situation across the state as calm, saying no arrest has been made so far.
Speaking on the conduct of the election, Erale said security personnel were moving across the 30 Local Government Areas to monitor the exercise and ensure a peaceful process.
He said commissioners of police, assistant commissioners of police and Mobile Police (MOPOL) commanders from different parts of the country had been deployed to take charge of individual local government areas.
“The situation is calm, it’s just a people problem. We are going round all the local governments. We have the commissioner of police, we have assistant commissioners of police including MOPOL commanders from different parts of the country in charge of a local government.
“So, there is no way that we cannot get it right.”
Eralе also said the security agencies had not made any arrest in connection with the election as of the time of his briefing.
