The Benue sate chapter of the People’s Democratic party (PDP), has received into it fold, an Abuja based businessman, Mr. Victor Ama Hundu who led thousands others to join the party in Vandeikya local government area.
Governor Samuel Ortom who was represented at the occasion by Commissioner for Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar received Hon. Victor Hundu and his supporters charged him to cooperate with the Party’s leadership as as to build it and foster development.
The Governor assured the aspirant of equal opportunities and dividends of the party as he expressed optimism that the PDP would be further strengthen to win all seats in the state in the 2023 general election.
In his speech, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Titus Uba charged Mr. Hundu and his followers to the PDP to be orderly and loyal to the party, saying their time of entry into PDP did not matter in terms of its dividends and encouraged others intending to join the party to act fast before it becomes too late.
While handing over the aspirant to Governor Ortom on behalf of Vandeikya people, the Speaker said, PDP remained the only Party that could bring development and dividend to the people, maintaining that Jechira was for PDP and commended then for joining the Party showed it’s strength and PDP would continue to wax stronger.
Also speaking, the member of the Benue sate House of assembly for Tiev constituency, Mr. Terkaa Ucha described the new entrant as a man of value that would strength the party in the area.
Responding, Mr. Ama Hundu said his decision to join PDP was due to Governor Ortom’s leadership quality which he said was admired by many Nigerians including some of his counterparts.
He likened the Governor’s style of politics to the kind of politics practised in the past by the forefathers which was characterized by pursuit of common interest rather than personal interest.
He called for unity of purpose to develop Jechira nation expressed his determination towards transformation of the constituency if the people of Jechira Federal constituency give him the opportunity to win the seat in 2013.
