Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Kailani Muhammad, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to carry out a thorough investigation on the regime of the former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido.
The chieftain who expressed displeasure on the management of the apex bank while addressing a press conference at his residence yesterday, emphasised that the former Emir of Kano be investigated, being the predecessor of the embattled CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Kilani further said that the recent outburst of Sanusi Lamido, calling for Emefiele’s release was done not in the interest of Nigerians, adding that definately the former apex bank Governor was doing that to cover up some mess of his tenure.
While speaking he said: ” when Emefiele was arraigned he (Sanusi) has called more than 10 times for his release and we do not know what fears he has that he is running up and down.”
Kilani however, said that all stolen monies be returned to the nation’s account and be used to uplift the country’s economy, which according to him, if properly utilized will improve the livelohood of the citizens.
” We want prosperity and development of our economy, we want our children to get quality education and get good jobs, and these stolen monies, I am sure that it will be enough for us to get the country running,” he emphasized.
Fielding questions on the issue of the nation’s refineries, he disclosed that the Portharcourt refinery is now at 98 per cent completion, adding that it will soon come on stream.
Kilani who is an expert in the oil industry further explained that: ”
Kaduna and Warri refineries are under renovation, and if completed,
there will be flow of fuel everywhere.”
The chieftain who was the National Coordinator of the TSN, therefore urged Nigerians to be patient, just as he said that the President needed to be applauded for the bold steps taking so far in his quest to repositioning the nation’s economy.
