Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe have been sworn in for a second term in office.
Sule who was sworn in as the 7th democratically elected governor of the state took the oaths of allegiance and office administered by the Chief Judge of the state , Justice Aisha Bashir Aliyu , during the inaugural ceremony at the Lafia square.
In his post inaugural speech, the governor called for collaboration from those who contested against him to join hands with his administration to move the state forward.
“The election has come and gone, the task ahead of us now is the supremacy of the security and welfare of our people”
“The electioneering campaign did not go without occasional acrimony from some quarters, intended to disrupt our collective sense of mission and cohesion as peaceful people of Nasarawa State”
“This is why I commend your steadfastness in shunning and standing against all the provocations intended to divide our people for selfish political gains”
“I appeal to all men and women of goodwill to join us to move Nasarawa State to new level of development and progress. Nasarawa State remains the only State we can call our own. It is for us to build, nurture and protect towards achieving the collective prosperity of our dream,” he said.
The governor said his administration will continue to prioritise security, noting that security was the pivot of harmonious co-existence and socio-economic development.
He, therefore called for sustained collaborative efforts and synergy with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property, urging the people of the state to remain steadfast and vigilant.
Earlier in his remarks, state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Dr John Mamman said the state had developed in all sectors of the economy.
He commended the governor for the seamless relationship with the arms of government.
