A group under the augies of the Tudun Wada Sustainable Development Association, Zaria, has described the refusal of the 10th Senate to clear the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-rufai as a witch-hunt.

The group also said that subjecting a former Governor like El-rufai whose performance was tremendious to a security scrutiny after appearing at the Senate chamber for screening as an unhealthy development.

The Secretary of the group, Nasiru Ladan, while addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Thursday urged the Senate to clear El-rufai without further delay in the interest of peace, fairness and justice.

Ladan however, said that petitions and complaints should be directed to the appropriate quaters. ” That is how it should be,” he emphasised.

While speaking, the Secretary further explained that there are some nominees cleared and are allegedly on the book of the EFCC for corrupt practices.

” We notice with serious concern the conspiracy to deprive our beloved country the benefits of Mal. Nasiru El-Rufai’s tremendous contributions, competence and experience in governance.

” Based on the records available, Mal. Nasiru El-Rufai was the best performing governor in the history of Kaduna state”, Ladan said.

The group therefore urged the Senate to considered the contributions of El-Rufai to national development, and be cleared.

Though, the unconfirmed news making the rounds was that El-Rufai has resigned his nomination as ministerial nominee.
