The opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Nasarawa chapter has raised serious alarm over plot by some persons alledged to be Nasarawa state government officials to disrupt the governorship election petition tribunal’s closing argument of counsels on Thursday in Lafia.
This is just as the Senior Special Assistant to governor Abdulahi Sule on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba noted that, peace and respect for rule of law has remained key to the government of Engr. Sule and that no official of the state government will ever plot anything of sort.
The PDP state chairman, chief Francis Orogu raised the alarm on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Lafia, the state capital.
“The attention of the party is once again drawn to an alleged plans by some unscrupulous government officials to cause mischief by organizing crisis with intent to disrupt the Governorship election petition tribunal from doing it’s job in Lafia sitting for closing argument by parties.
“As a responsible party we have notified the security agents to take necessary steps in order to forestall any chaos on Thursday in Lafia.
“We urge all Persons who are nursing the intention, plans parading themselves as mastermind to allow peaceful process of the law in the state.
The opposition PDP in the state dismissed rumor that it has no reason to justify relocation of governorship tribunal sitting in the state capital to else where.
The state party chairman of the PDP affirmed that his party will respect the decision of the governorship petition tribunal sitting in Lafia.
Reacting to the allegation, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba described the allegation as false. He noted that, peace and respect for rule of law has remained key to the government of Engr. Sule and that no official of the state government will ever plot anything of sort.
“Ironically it is the PDP that has been disrupting Tribunal sittings and causing unnecessary tension through its paid agents to carryout protests at the premises of the Tribunal and other locations in the state.
Members of the public should disregard the allegation as it is the imagination of the PDP Chairman or what the party is plotting to do.
