…says no one will trade with the community’s interest again

…endorses Atiku, Oborevwori, others

By Samuel Omugbe

Foremost Warri-based oil mogul and philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Okpomo Erezih, JP, has stated that the era of internal political exploitation of the people in his native community of Emevor in Isoko North, Delta State, has come to an end.

Speaking at an enlarged meeting with over 5,000 of his supporters and other PDP faithful’s in his country home in Emevor, Okpomo noted that over the years, a tiny minority masquerading as leaders in the community has shortchanged the people to their own advantage.

He said that these crop of sit-tight leaders are notorious for hijacking whatever comes to the community and giving the same to their kids, wives, girlfriends and cronies leaving behind the downtrodden and those who ought to benefit from such Government patronage, to suffer and live in lack.

“I am here today to tell you that enough is enough in this community of ours. Over the years, a tiny minority who claimed to be our leaders have shortchanged us all and left us with nothing to write home about. These people come to us only during elections and seek for votes to promote themselves and their families politically. Whatever becomes the benefit of our collective labour is shared between themselves, the kids and their wives.

“These people have no regard for anybody. They see us all as a tool to actualize their ambitions and dump us to suffer later. We are all saying today that enough is enough and we will never allow these groups of people to use us again. We will show to them that we are no more as stupid as they earlier thought us to be,” he said.

While enjoining the people not to allow themselves to be used again, Okpomo called on the people to vote massively for the Presidential Candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the gubernatorial Candidate of the party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the senatorial candidate of the party, Hon. Michael Diden.

However, the businessman cum politician insisted that the party’s candidates for the remaining two positions (House of Representatives and House of Assembly) will neither get his votes nor support.

“As for me and my supporters, it is 3/5. We will vote and support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President. We will also support Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor. We will vote for Hon. Michael Diden for the senatorial position. That is how far we can go for PDP. Times have changed and no one will take us for a fool again. We cannot serve a father for 20 years and serve his son again. We will never,” he said.

Also present in the event were; former leader of Isoko North Legislative Arm Hon. Fidelis Usie, former Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Hon. Anthony Odhe, Chief Emmanuel Erhire, Hon Wilson khama, Hon lucky Okeremu and several other dignitaries.
