André Onana will play in the starting lineup for Inter Milan tonight at San Siro against Bayern Munich in the Champions League matchday two on Wednesday, September 7.

A change that makes noise: for captain Handanovic it is the first exclusion of a technical nature (no physical problems for him), for the Cameroonian, it is his debut with Inter in a decidedly complicated match.

Not his debut in the Champions League, actually, a competition in which he already boasts 38 appearances.

Inter and Bayern Munich have met seven times in official matches in their history and the balance sheet is perfectly balanced: three wins for each side and a draw.

Unforgettable, for the Nerazzurri fans, the victory in the Champions League final on 22 May 2010 with a brace from Diego Milito.

Attention: the three Bavarians’ successes all arrived at San Siro, with 100% victories at the Meazza.

The last was on February 23, 2011, in the round of 16 of the Champions League, 0-1 with a goal from Mario Gomez in the final: the Nerazzurri would then win 2-3 in Monaco in the second leg with a decisive goal from Goran Pandev, reaching the quarterfinals (defeat against Schalke 04).

Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Dimarco; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Gosens; Dzeko, Correa. Coach: Inzaghi
12:45 – 7 Sept.

Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Pavard, De Ligt, Hernandez, Davies; Kimmich, Sabitzer; Coman, Muller, Sané; Mané. Coach: Nagelsmann.

After the derby loss against Milan, Inter are immediately called to another big match, of an even higher level.

At Giuseppe Meazza the German champions of Bayern Munich come back from two league draws that cost the top of the Bundesliga.

Simone Inzaghi is without Romelu Lukaku, Julian Nagelsmann may have to do without Bouna Sarr.
