D’Tigress of Nigeria emerged champions of Africa for the fourth consecutive time following their thrilling 84-74 victory against Senegal in the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket final.
Nigeria has become only the second team after Senegal to win four consecutive titles.
D’Tigress coach Rena Wakama, the only female coach at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket, is now the first female coach to win the title in her first outing with Nigeria.
