According to several media reports in Italy, Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is demanding €200 million to sell Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, in the summer transfer window.

Amid increasing interest from top clubs for Osimhen, Napoli De Laurentiis is not willing to let the Nigeria international leave in the summer transfer window for cheap.

The Super Eagles striker still has three years left on his contract, but De Laurentiis is likely not to listen to offers except for clubs that are willing to pay the €200 million price.

The 24-year-old- prolific striker had an outstanding 2022/23 outing with the Parthenopeans, scoring 31 goals and providing five assists from just 39 appearances across all competitions.

His effort helped deliver the club’s first league title after a three-decade and his name attracted interest from top clubs in Europe, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and Real Madrid leading the race to secure his signature for next season.

As reported by Italian media, Calciomercato, De Laurentiis reiterated the club’s valuation of Osimhen to €200 million and will not accept an offer lower to the fee.

“Osimhen, the amount requested by De Laurentiis is €200 million, ” Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said as quoted by Calciomercato.

“I didn’t want to say it in recent days, I said more than €150m, then €180m but De Laurentiis’ initial request for the Nigerian is €200m”.

“If Rice is worth €122m, Osimhen is worth €370m”, this is the comment.

Osimhen has established himself as one of Europe’s top forwards and time will tell if he will wear the Napoli jersey for the new season or ply his trade elsewhere.
