After weeks of negotiations, Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to sign a contract extension with Serie A champions Napoli, with an official announcement to be made soon, MoneyCentral reports.
The new deal will see Osimhen earn a bumper €8m yearly salary with a two-year extension until 2027, MoneyCentral reports.
The Nigeria international’s existing deal with Napoli expires in the summer of 2025 and the striker has signed a two-year extension with a €170m release clause.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international helped Napoli win their first League title in many seasons and led the scoring charts in the process.
According to Italian media Areanapoli.it, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is happy to put an end to Osimhen’s transfer speculations
“The details of the new contract provide for a contractual extension for another two years, until 2027, compared to the current deadline of 2025.
“Osimhen’s new contract will see him earn a salary of €8m plus annual bonuses and will be the highest paid of the entire SSC Napoli squad and a club record €170m release clause.”
With this news, Osimhen will remain at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The Nigerian superstar has lit up Serie A with Napoli since his move from Lille in 2020.
Osimhen bagged 26 goals and four assists in 32 Italian top-flight outings last season, standing out as Napoli’s best-performing player by average match rating, as well as Serie A’s best-performer overall.
The Super Eagles star averaged a very impressive and threatening 4.2 attempts at goal per 90 – again the highest number of any player in Serie A.
The Nigerian goal poacher has been praised by members of the media and fans for his excellent form last season.
