A Nigerian construction technology company, Bettabuilder, has unveiled a digital marketplace designed to connect construction professionals, suppliers, equipment providers and service partners across the country.
The platform was unveiled at a news conference at the conference hall of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday.
The Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Bettabuilder, Mr Oladotun Oladapo, said the marketplace was developed to address some of the challenges facing Nigeria’s construction and real estate sectors.
He said the platform would help to ease the difficulty of finding trusted professionals.
Oladapo added that the platform would coordinate service providers and give access to reliable construction resources.
Oladapo said the platform was developed from practical experiences in the industry
He said the aim was to make construction connections easier, more organised and accessible to stakeholders.
“The problem we are solving is not simply about technology. It is about making construction connections easier, more structured and more accessible,” he said.
He said the marketplace would bring contractors, artisans, architects, engineers, suppliers, equipment providers and construction companies together on one platform.
According to him, the platform uses a location-based approach to help users to identify professionals and services relevant to their projects.
He said the marketplace would also serve homeowners, property developers, facility managers and individuals planning construction projects, as well as Nigerians in the diaspora who would want to manage projects remotely.
Oladapo said the marketplace was more than a digital platform, describing it as a construction and real estate solution ecosystem built around technology, industry expertise and practical experience.
He disclosed that the company planned to expand its professional network and create a trusted environment where clients could access construction services and professionals gain greater visibility and business opportunities.
He said that the launch came amid increasing efforts by businesses in Nigeria’s built environment sector to use technology to improve access to services, strengthen collaboration and address inefficiencies in project delivery.
The Founder and Lead Partner, E and C Legal, Mr Omoruyi Edoigiawerie, stressed the importance of legal compliance, proper documentation and accountability in the real estate sector.
Edoigiawerie said structured processes and responsible engagement among stakeholders were necessary for a more organised property and construction industry.
A construction expert, Mr Sam Okosun, urged project owners to engage qualified professionals when undertaking construction projects.
Okosun warned against executing construction projects without the required professional expertise.
He said that improved connections between clients and competent professionals would contribute to a more organised construction sector.
Mr Alvin Cheng of Sany Group also expressed support for the Bettabuilder Marketplace and discussed possible collaboration in heavy construction equipment solutions.
The proposed collaboration is expected to provide construction professionals and businesses with easier access to machinery while helping equipment providers to connect with potential users.
