Billionaire Elon Musk, who reportedly had donated to a super PAC working to elect Donald Trump, made his backing of Trump official following an apparent shooting.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” he said on X. In a subsequent post, he said, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”

Former President Donald Trump was taken off the stage at a rally in Butler, Pa., Saturday after what sounded like multiple shots were fired in an assassination attempt.
Trump reached for what appeared to be his ear or neck as Secret Service members jumped to the stage and surrounded him, leading him away. Photos and video showed blood on Trump’s ear and face as he was removed from the stage.
