NSE halts downward trend, gains 0.06%

Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday halted the three days negative sentiment as the investors’ wealth increased by N7.06 billion.

This was driven by buy sentiment on Unilever, Guaranty, FBNH and 17 others. As a result, the market breadth closed positively, recording 20 gainers as against 8 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 13.54 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.06% to close at 23,709.44 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N7.06 billion, representing a growth of 0.06% to close at N12.36 trillion.

Unilever emerged as the top gainer while Jaiz Bank & UnionDAC emerged as the top losers.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; Unilever (+9.96%), Total (+6.75%), Stanbic (+2.63%), Guaranty (+2.14%), UACN (+1.45%), FBNH (+1.05%), and Zenith Bank (+0.33%).
