The Russian Armed Forces have reported that they have destroyed an ammunition depot in Ukraine’s Odessa region on Sunday, where multiple launch rocket systems (HIMARS) from the United States were stored.

“Long-range, high-precision Kalibr maritime missiles in the area of the settlement of Maiorskoye, Odessa region, destroyed an ammunition depot with US HIMARS missiles and anti-aircraft systems,” Russian Army spokesman Igor Konashenkov said, as reported by the TASS news agency.

Konashenkov also said that the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed a fuel depot in the Zaporiyia region where more than 100 tons of diesel fuel was stored, according to the agency.

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, stressed that the Russian Army has used the Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at least three times during the war. The missiles are capable of reaching “Mach 5” speed, about five times the speed of sound.

“In general, it is practically impossible to shoot it down, and we use it to attack particularly important targets,” Shoigu explained, adding that these projectiles can change their trajectory in vertical and horizontal planes along their trajectory, as reported by Kommersant.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported late Thursday the deployment in Kaliningrad of three MiG-31 aircraft with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at the Chkalovsk airfield, which will remain on “combat duty 24 hours a day”.

Indeed, NATO warned Russia on Friday that the deployment of fighter jets armed with hypersonic missiles in the Kaliningrad enclave does not help to lower tensions on NATO’s own borders.

Regarding the toll of casualties from the military operations in Ukraine, Konashenkov specified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost more than 100 soldiers and seven armored vehicles in the Mikolaiv and Kherson regions.

Also, the Russian Army destroyed two American M777 howitzers in fighting positions near Knyazevka, in Kherson, while more than 30 Ukrainian troops, a tank and five vehicles were destroyed in Novomikhailovka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
